Where community

takes centre stage

A New Act Begins
For five decades, amateur theatre has been at the heart of village life in Elstead, culminating in the Players of Elstead Theatrical Society's successful production of Rumours in Spring 2026.
But just as springtime brings in new life, your village theatre has been reborn and reimagined.
Our Vision
Serving Elstead and the surrounding villages, Elstead Village Theatre will encompass a wide variety of performing arts, from conventional plays over a three-night run to one-off events incorporating a variety of genres such as musical theatre, comedy, cabaret, improvisation, old-time music hall, rock/pop music, poetry and dance.
But those are just some ideas – we are open to any new suggestions and would welcome as much input from the wider community as possible.
We are also keen to develop youth drama, so if anyone has children who are budding actors, technical wizards, or who would simply benefit from some confidence-building games and activities, watch this space!
And, as part of our community vision, we are keen to stage at least one fundraising event per year in aid of local charity.
We also recognise that not all theatre lovers necessarily want to perform on stage so if you are interested in a play-reading in a local pub, taking part in a one-off drama workshop, putting together a team for a themed charity quiz night, or enjoying a group trip to the theatre – we’d love to talk to YOU!
Elstead Village Theatre is all about celebrating the magic of live performance, doing good in our community and most importantly, having fun.
